Starting from the 12.12.2008 the Swiss Embassy in Tripoli will issue Schengen visa for a stay of max. 90 days for the following purposes:

• tourism/visit
• business meetings
• short studies, language camp
• medical treatment
• transit

The Swiss-Schengen visa will allow travel to the whole Schengen area. Holders of a still valid Schengen visa issued by other Schengen states before this date will be able to enter Switzerland without an additional Swiss visa.

N.B.: The Swiss national visa (yellow sticker) valid beyond the 12.12.2008 will allow the entry to Switzerland only (not to other Schengen states).

The Embassy will forward your application (3 forms) to the relevant Cantonal Migration Office for decision. Please note that it may take up to 4 months before a reply is received. Therefore, the Swiss Embassy advises you to apply as soon as possible.
